The Santa Cruz County Friends of the Rail and Trail would like to present the Coast Connect vision.
It all starts with the stunning 32-mile Coastal Rail Trail from Davenport to Watsonville. Then it adds a clean modern rail transit service from Watsonville to Santa Cruz. Synchronized buses connect to the rail stops. A network of safe pedestrian and bicycle routes joins neighborhoods to the corridor.
We envision a future in which this integrated transportation network enables fast, safe, and accessible travel across our community. The network will connect us to our neighbors, the rest of the Central Coast region, and beyond. Inspired by proven solutions in similar communities in the US and across the globe, we look forward to the day when people of all abilities can easily move throughout our community to get to work and school, shop, exercise, or just enjoy the beauty of our coastal region.

Voice Your SupportThe draft TCAA study was published November 6th by the RTC. From this study we know that rail transit will provide the fastest, most reliable, most equitable, and most climate-friendly public transit to serve our county, and that rail transit is also the only option guaranteed to preserve the easement so that trail construction can continue.
Your voice is needed now to show that the public supports the study outcome in favor of rail transit. |
